Delivering On The Promise Of A Better Future
At Vance Wealth, we strive to create a positive impact in our families, businesses, and communities. One of our team members is making a significant difference through a local nonprofit, Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley (SCV).
“At Family Promise of SCV, our mission is to help families experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable independence through housing support and a community-based response,” explained Jason Lane, Wealth Advisor for Vance Wealth and Vice President of the Board of Directors of Family Promise SCV. “This year, we’re nearing the completion of a build-out that will allow us to serve more families with even more community support.”
Family Promise of SCV addresses the root causes of homelessness for single parents and families, offering interim housing, prevention services, and transitional support. Last year, the nonprofit served 109 parents and children with an 88% success rate in helping families secure stable housing and achieve sustainable independence.
“Once a family qualifies for our housing, our case management team provides resources to help them find work, improve credit, save money, and secure long-term housing,” Jason said. “We aim to help families save enough to sustain their new housing expenses when they move out.”
Family Promise is expanding with a new Resource Center and four additional housing units on Newhall Avenue. The Resource Center will feature a gathering space, kitchen, family room, emergency overnight unit, offices, and more, enhancing the support provided to families.
“The community really came together to make this happen,” Jason shared. “The City of Santa Clarita donated the land, Williams Homes is our building partner, and Living Spaces helped furnish the units. It’s been incredible to see the collective support.”
As Family Promise grows, there will be more opportunities for community involvement. Their signature fundraiser, “A Round to Remember” Golf Tournament, is on Oct. 7 at Sand Canyon Country Club.
