Carrisa Flores Earns CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification

Committed To Continuous Growth

At Vance Wealth, we believe in the power of progress—not only for our clients, but for our team. That’s why we’re proud to announce that Carrisa Flores has officially earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, joining a distinguished group of professionals who meet the highest standards in our field.

This milestone is more than a personal accomplishment. As the first woman at Vance Wealth to earn the CFP® designation, Carrisa’s achievement enriches our team and strengthens the service we provide to clients.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Carrisa shared. “The CFP® is a six-hour exam. It was a big challenge—but I kept pushing.”

After moving to Oregon with her family, Carrisa found the space and focus to fully commit to the demanding study process. She completed her coursework through Cal State Fullerton, worked closely with a mentor, and eventually switched prep programs—on a recommendation from Partner and Wealth Advisor Jerrod Ferguson—that helped everything click into place.

“That support really changed the game,” she said. “It helped me study differently, and suddenly the testing style started to make sense.”

Her clients were cheering her on every step of the way. “Some of them texted me good luck the day of the exam,” she shared. “They were so invested. To finally see all the hard work pay off—and to celebrate that with my clients and my team—meant everything.”

The CFP® certification, issued by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc., is recognized as the gold standard in the industry. It requires comprehensive education across core planning disciplines, thousands of hours of real-world experience, and a steadfast commitment to acting in the client’s best interest.

“It’s not just a piece of paper on the wall,” Carrisa said. “It’s proof that I’ve studied every corner of this profession, that I know how to collaborate with professionals across disciplines, and that I’m committed to always showing up for my clients with care and integrity.”

During her journey to certification, Carrisa spoke with a group of young girls about what it means to be a financial planner—and that experience stuck with her. “I plan to do more outreach in the future,” she said. “I’m passionate about helping more women see themselves in this work. It’s so important to get involved in our communities and talk about the opportunities that exist in financial planning.”

Now that the exam is behind her, Carrisa is looking forward to spending more time outdoors with her family and tending to her grapevines—deer permitting—while continuing to lead with care and purpose.

“I feel incredibly grateful to be part of a firm that values growth and supports one another so well,” she said. “To me, it’s about continuing to show up—for our clients, our team, and our communities. Having another CFP® professional on the team makes us all stronger.”
