Empowering Women to Achieve More

In an effort to please others, oftentimes we can get caught in the perfection trap, especially as women. The reality is that perfection is an illusion, and a dangerous one at that. Women tend to overthink and overanalyze, especially those of us who try to make everyone happy.

One of my favorite quotes from Brene Brown is “Perfectionism is not the same thing has striving to be your best. Perfectionism is the belief that if we live perfect, look perfect, and act perfect, we can minimize or avoid the pain of blame, judgement, and shame. It’s a shield. It’s a twenty-ton shield that we lug around thinking it will protect us when, in fact, it’s the thing that’s really preventing us from flight.”

Rather than perfection, focus on progress. Celebrate your wins, however small they may be. Learn to delegate and be vulnerable, this is the most courageous thing you can do.

We can achieve more without seeking perfection.
